The Foundation We've Built

Texas Health has already made great progress toward meeting the challenges we face and preparing for the future. We are well poised to decisively act to create more value for consumers, patients and our care teams. Here’s a high-level summary of the foundation we’ve built for Vision 2026:

Reliable Care Blueprinting

We've launched several initiatives to enhance our efficiency and clinical quality. Reliable Care Blueprinting helps provide patients a safe, reliable experience at every Texas Health location, every time. Through our efforts, we have already improved outcomes for some patients, and expect to expand this to all patients we serve.

Cut Costs Without Cutting Quality

We've improved efficiencies through standardization, centralization and removing duplication. For example, we centralized our microbiology labs and reduced turnaround times, while saving over $1 million without sacrificing quality. This is a never-ending quest for continuous improvement.

Created a Continuum of Care

We have evolved into a health system focused on the full continuum of care. Our partnerships with Adeptus, Envision, Surgical Care Affiliates (SCA), LHC Group (home health) and others provide additional care avenues with freestanding ERs, imaging centers, surgery centers and home care. We have also created new venues of care through our neighborhood care and wellness centers and expanded behavioral health locations.

Formed Game-changing Partnerships

We've teamed up with UT Southwestern to form Southwestern Health Resources. This clinical network extends our reach to include population health research and services, allowing us the ability to help patients navigate the complexities of the health care system through robust care management and coordination of the right care at the right time with the right provider. It also gives our patients increased access to specialized care and clinical trials. And, through our partnership with Aetna, we are taking insurance products directly to consumers and building a more sustainable value-based model of care.
