The Business of Health Care Report
THR recently announced a new 10-year strategic focus designed to transform health care in North Texas. One of our goals is to make THR an integrated provider and coordinator of care.
What does that mean – to be a coordinator of care?
The health care environment today is more complex than ever before. Consumers face a maze of choices for obtaining care, ranging from their physician’s office or an urgent care clinic, to a specialty hospital or major medical center.
For many people in our highly mobile society, the relationship between patient and health care provider has become fractured and episodic. Patients are often left to navigate this complex environment on their own.
THR’s role as a coordinator of care will involve close collaboration with physicians to enable them to treat patients in a variety of settings designed to be convenient and cost-effective.
THR envisions a future where consumers will enjoy a continuum of care that encompasses wellness, prevention, diagnosis and treatment, all coordinated through a cost-effective, integrated system of providers.
